Alright, let's talk the Aula 60HE.
For the money, this thing slaps. Compact 60% board with hall-effect magnetic switches, 8K polling, and rapid trigger – the same party tricks the expensive boards flex, except this one doesn't empty the wallet. It's small, it's reactive, and once you actually sit down and tune the actuation, it just works.
That's the hall-effect pitch in real life: magnets instead of a physical contact, so you set how far a key has to travel before it fires, then rapid trigger resets it the second you start lifting. For FPS? It's great. Counter-strafing, tap-firing, that twitchy movement stuff – this board is built for it. Sensitive in the way you want when you're in a gunfight.
Too sensitive, though, if you're doing anything else. Video editing on this thing is a fat-finger lottery. You brush a key and it registers because you tuned it for games, not Premiere. That's not a defect, that's the trade. This is a gaming board pretending it can be a daily driver.
The software is the actual problem. The web firmware kinda sucks. No – it really sucks. Browser-based configurator, janky as hell, and updating the hardware firmware is dodgy. It feels like you're one bad click away from bricking a cheap keyboard. Once you get through that circus and the settings live onboard, you can ignore it. Until you can't.
Bottom line: it does exactly what I want it to do when I want it to. Love it for the price. If you play FPS and can survive a janky web driver, try one today.
Overall: 7/10
