My car's built-in wireless charger stinks. It's slow, and my phone gets hot every time I use it. The car also has two USB-C ports, but one is data only and one is for charging, and both say "fast charging." Let's be honest, companies slap that label on any charger now to sell units. So when I reached out to Lisen about reviewing some products and they sent me their cream of the crop, the B121 101W car charger, I had a lot of questions.
First up, it looks great. Carbon fiber with contrasting plastic, and it's easily the best-looking thing on my console. It doesn't feel light or cheap at all. This is a premium charger.
The star feature is the retractable cable. It reaches my phone's port and sits perfectly even with my case on. When it retracts, it's magnetic, so it stays put and there are no floppy wires hanging around the center console. It's a small thing until you've lived with the alternative.
Performance is night and day compared to my car's built-in charger. Starting at 15% battery, the stock charging took 1 hour 46 minutes, and the Lisen took 1 hour 18 minutes. It also doesn't get hot. It's not overly bulky, either, and blends into my interior nicely. It's also a great one to toss in your EDC backpack in case a friend's car doesn't have a charger, or just keep in your daily for those just-in-case moments.
My one nitpick is the cable length. If someone in the back seat needs a charge, they have to awkwardly reach up between the seats and do the "I'm charging but I'm doom scrolling" lean. That's a safety issue, and they look silly doing it.
Bottom line: this is a premium, fast, great-looking charger that fixes everything I hate about my car's built-in charging. Grab one. And no affiliate links here, I get paid nothing from this.
Overall: 9.5/10
